Desde La Raíz is a series inspired by the weathered exterior walls of colonial houses in Colombia. It brings together Indigenous iconography, architectural drawings from New York City’s Gilded Age, and a deep desire to explore diverse printmaking techniques. Through this work, I reflect on the legacies of colonialism and migration, while honoring the resilience and artistry of human hands.

These monoprints were created during my six-month residency at the Lower East Side Printshop. Each piece was developed through layered processes of collagraph, image transfer, and silkscreen, resulting in richly textured and vibrantly colored surfaces. The series contemplates ideas of home and belonging.
