Aqui Estamos Todavia #2, 2026

Oil, ink and embroidery flos on canvas and acrylic. Overall Installation: 144 H x 180 inches

Aquí Estamos Todavía #2 (2026) is a site-specific installation that brings together nine small paintings against a large-scale wall drawing that expands the work into the surrounding space.

This installation was presented as part of Under a Plantain Tree: Notes on Liberation, curated by Dr. Margarita Lila Rosa at the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning.

Drawing from archival photographs of banana plantations, the work gestures toward the long histories of resource extraction across the Global South, illuminating both the quiet acts of resistance embedded in these landscapes and the structural injustices that have persisted through time.
